124/365 – Shades of Spring
Today saw the second (the third will be for my holiday which will probably go out in a day or two!) large amount of money leave my account as the vehicle was going in for it’s annual service and MOT. Thankfully it passed but sadly this priviledge cost me £250. Now that that’s out of the way, it only leaves my car insurance to pay. I’ve got a little bit of breathing room as that’s not due until the end of the month. Glasses are done, holidays paid for (well, the cheques been sent) and now the car’s all sorted. Best start saving again now!
I spent the afternoon with my best friend Loz with whom I’d planned to have lunch in Aldridge. Turns out we weren’t going there after all but somewhere completely different. I had to keep my eyes covered until we got there! It was a nice surprise when we arrived and I opened my eyes to see the famous Mailbox building staring back at me. We had a very nice leisurely lunch at Miller and Carter before heading into the Bullring for a little retail therapy. A very enjoyable afternoon 🙂
Today’s picture isn’t really relevant to the events of the day – mainly because I didn’t take any whilst in town. Instead, I’ve chosen a very spring looking image. I know we had a blossom themed picture not so long ago but I couldn’t resist using this one – the different shades really made it stand out, and with the weather being so miserable lately, it’s nice to have a little bit of colour to brighten up the days.
“The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.”
